This is about Berlin as I see it.

Berlin

When I was last in Berlin.

There was above all a feeling of an island.I traveled by land, hitchhiking, paying my 5 marks for the privilege. Fun and games on the way there but that’s another story. I stayed with a half Swedish, half German girl called Barbara in Manteuffel Strasse. Looking out from the squat in Kreuzberg, the Fernseheturm. One object. Pulsing red,always red, watching, seeing all amidst the grey, no yellow-grey. Reminding us across The Wall on this electrically blazing haven that technology existed somewhere apart from the West
